Blanca Fuller’s Story

Blanca described her story to me at her home. We were sitting in her living room as her partner, Rebecca, listened in. After Blanca told me her story, Rebecca stated, “I think it would be important to tell him about the arrowheads and the pottery shards you collected. I think that might have had something to do with the man you saw.”

I turned to Blanca and asked her about this. Blanca said, “Well, yeah, we found an area where there were several ancient fire pits. We knew these were fire pits because of the obvious black charcoal marks on the ground. All around there were pottery shards and arrowheads that my brothers and I gathered and placed in our pockets. I only kept one. I’ll show it to you when we’re done with the interview.”

Blanca’s story will give some readers cause to leave ancient artifacts alone. If you happen to be hiking in the wilderness and come across something in the order of pottery shards or other evidence of ancient human workmanship, it would be best to leave it where you found it. That is unless you don’t mind the possibility of having the person who made it many centuries ago pay a little “friendly visit” to your home.
